For two straight days I accessed the SURFBoard modem to Connection | MAC Filtering and turned off 2.4 g network which the following day Apple-TV does not connect to 5 g (I did not do anything on 5 g network since I use 5 g network during early morning hours).

I enabled the 2.4 g network and Apple-TV still does not connect even though the MAC address is correct. Mind that I use “Allow” instead of “Allow-All” to prevent neighbors from trying to steal our connection.

In the past, we had Netgear and I liked their feature, which was “Allow” or “Deny” meaning that what was on the MAC Filtering list when set to “Deny” will allow all of our devices to work and block neighbors.

With SURFBoard, I found it odd, but am willing to work with what we have. For two straight days, I had to delete the Apple-TV and its MAC from the MAC Filtering list, save and re-enter the name and MAC address (Of course, I use copy/paste from the Notepad). Then Apple-TV connects to 5 g.

I do not know if it is a glitch or what with Apple-TV since our other devices are still able to connect to 5 g network even with 2.4 g network off.

Thank you for your time in advance.
