I just got my shiny new ARRIS Surfboard modem S34 and it seems to be working fine,

but I cannot register it on the warranty site.

Warranty Registration Fails S34 modem

it says the modem’s serial does not match the model of S34..

this is total BS I expected better from ARRIS.

Best answer by Melchior

I called the ARRIS support phone number that came up when I got the error..

they told me over the phone that it matched  over the phone… S34 and serial number..

so all good now.. but not ok that they have a backend issue online.

Its not something the forum can fix. You’ll need to get a hold of someone with support or a moderator on here. You could try PM one of the moderators.

too bad, I used to have high hopes for the ARRIS brand…

its running hot too.. no other issues this week since I bought it on Amazon and got it installed myself.

It's normal for the modem to feel warm during operation. However, if it becomes uncomfortably hot to touch, that could be a concern.

You can register your warranty by visiting our website at www.arris.com/consumersupport.

If you're unable to register the product, please feel free to reach out to us via chat or phone at your convenience.

I have tried 5 or so times to register my warranty at that address online,

but it redirects to

https://arris.my.salesforce-sites.com/consumers

it keeps telling me its not a match to the S34 modem model..

the first step fails every time.

I have tried copying and pasting the serial number from the WebUI for the modem..

still no go..

your website or serial number database is broken...

I have verified that the label on the modem, on the insert, and the WebUI all match..

I am not a noob. ty!

5-6 times I have tried it… with no go.

Wasn’t trying to say you were a noob :)

I’ve just seen times they don’t match. I’ve also seen where 0 (zero) for O (oooo)

So its always worth checking. You might have to find a way to chat or PM the moderator.

ooh maybe it could be a O instead of a zero……..

nope that was not the issue either..

I tried both a zero and an O where it had one…

that didn’t help but thx for the insight…

the other confused letter/number is 8 vs B and and D vs maybe O too..

so you were able to get it activated?

If not, its probably faster to exchange it wherever you bought it.

I’ve ran into a device not having an active serial number on my ISP (xfinity)

It was a beta device and took a while for the backend to get fixed. The exchange is probably faster.

activated?

What do you mean by that?

I had no problem activating it with Comcast’s Xfinity internet.

as I will remind the problem was not activating it but registering the warranty,,

Which I finally got it registered for its warranty with ARRIS over phone support.

but the backend to the Web page for this process may still not be working right.
