This morning I got a notice that the password had been changed on my SURFboard Model SB6141.

I noticed the message first on my thermostat and then realized that all devices were no longer connected.

Does this mean that my router was hacked?   How would I be able to reset the password?

I’m confused by your question. I believe the SB6141 is DOCSIS 3.0 modem, not a router. If you are concerned about the password on the SB6141 you can do a factory reset and then set a new password. However, if something happened to your router, we’d have to know what you are using in order to provide guidance. If you want to be as safe as possible, you could do a factory reset on it and start over.
