The ARRIS SURFboard SVG2482AC is a DOCSIS 3.0 Xfinity voice gateway, which supports speeds of up to 800 Mbps with Xfinity. However, if you're looking for a modem that can handle speeds up to 1 Gbps and also support telephone service, we recommend the T25, which is an Xfinity voice modem.

Thank you for responding so quickly. I clicked the surfboard link your provided and searched for the T25 model, but nothing was found. Can you let me know how I can locate this model on your website and also let me what satellites/pods I would need to buy for this gateway/router so that I can setup a mesh in my home as I do have some dead zones.
Thank you!
I’d avoid the SVG because its not next gen approved from xfinity.
I’d try to stick to that list

Problem you’ll run into is the phone requirement. If you could switch to a VOIP product, you could do a modem only device or modem/router combo device without the phone and it’d open up your list of devices.
Thank you so much! My phone is VIOP capable, and the thought did not even cross my mind. Thank you! So now that I resolved that issue what would be the next gen solution with a satellite/pod to cover the dead zone and I can return the gateway back to Xfinity.
Regards,
I’d pickup a next gen modem only device (Arris S34, Netgear CM3000) and then you can pair whatever mesh system you like with it. There’s quite a few out there. Dong Ngo (website dongknows) does a great job of reviewing mesh systems and comparing features to cost without accepting any payment from vendors. so pretty neutral testing.
I left a suggestion for a site to review but I guess it got moderated. I’d pickup a modem only device like the Arris S34 or Netgear CM3000. Then you can just pair whatever mesh system you’d prefer with it.
Oh wow, ok. I came across this one: NETGEAR Orbi Modem Router Combo (CBK752) DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem and WiFi 6 Mesh Router – AX4200 4.2Gbps Wireless Speed – Compatible with Xfinity, Spectrum, Cox, More – Covers 5,000 sq.ft., 40 Devices what do you think?
Its not a bad device. i just prefer the modem separate. reason why is that the ISP controls the firmware on modem and modem/router combo devices. So it rarely gets updated because they have to certify new firmwares. I’d recommend getting the modem and then purchasing a mesh system. the W130 system is pretty cheap and solid performing.
