Question

Shaw Direct Receiver

Forum|alt.badge.img

I have an Arris DSR 830 (Shaw Direct) receiver that I inadvertantly plugged the wrong power supply cord into. Does anyone know if there are any fuses inside that can be replaced and if so, how do I open the case without breaking it.

Many Thanks!

“wrong power supply”

You can use different power supplies provided they have the exact same voltage and polarity.

did you try plugging the correct one in and trying it?

No I wasn’t that lucky! It popped as soon as I plugged in the wrong power cord. The Arris unit uses a 12 v supply, and the one I inadvertantly plugged in was for my Wingegard unit which was 48v.
