The modem isn’t allowing an IP address to be given to my SIP phone that is connected via ethernet cable.  I verified with the internet provider no connection issue.  Any help?

    What is your modem’s model?  Where is your SIP phone connected to?

    Current Setup: Sonic Fiber > G54

    Modems typically need a router connected to them to manage more than 1 device and handle dhcp. 

    You didn’t give us much to go off. 

    What modem do you have it connected to? 

    Is there a router? 

    What SIP phone is it? 

    Current setup: Netgear CM3000-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 2.4gig/350mbps
