How do i get my wifi activated i have a tp-link AC1200 router and i connected it to a surfboard modem but im not sure how to activate it to actually have usable wifi

If you are using Arris cable modem and you can able to access internet on direct connection without router you can just restart modem once and connect router to the modem ethernet port to access WIFI. Could you please help us with the modem model number to provide you the right information.
