Can I use my android phone for the Arris VMS 1100 cable box?

We have a Verizon Arris VMS1100 cable tv box for my fios service.

Is there an app or a way that I can remotely control using my Samsung Android phone when I’m not in the house?  My elderly mom sometimes has problems changing the channel or raising the volume using her factory remote control.   If I can do this using my phone for her, then this would save me a lot of time and aggravation with this!

Arris supports only the retail products that are available on surfboard.com but not the ISP lease products. 
Please contact your ISP for further assistance.

    thats an ISP supplied device. You’d have to contact them
