I am getting intermittent connection drops.  Comcast told me the check that I have the lastest firmware version.   It looks like the firmware is updated automatically, as needed.

How does the auto update work?    I have Arris SVG2482AC.  Comcast knows I have it. Does Arris?

Again … how do the firmware updates work.

with modem/router combo devices, the manufacturer (arris) submits firmware updates to the ISP.

the isp certifies these updates and includes them either in a push or as part of the provisioning.

Sometimes a reboot can trigger them.

the problem with all this is that it costs the ISP $ to certify them. so it rarely happens unless its a critical update (according to the ISP)

when it drops, is it every device? Just wireless devices? Wired?
