I have an SGB8300…I believe it is a modem & router? I wanted to see if I could connect a mesh network to it in order to extend my Wi-Fi into dead zone or poor signal zones of my home. Is this possible?

Yes it is possible you can connect mesh system to SBG8300 after enabling bridge mode on the modem. Please check out the below article for bridge mode enable.
