I recently purchased the ARRIS SURFboard SBG7600AC2 off of eBay. It was listed as brand-new. Just open box. Are there any safety precautions I should take with the device. I'm worried that there may be a cyber security issue with buying a device like this. The price was right at least. I look forward to any body's response.

Buying device from eBay will not cause any issue with the modem accordance to cyber security. So you can just do a reset on the modem before setting up the device after activation. To reset modem you can press and hold the reset button at the back of the modem for 15-30 secs. Performing reset will not affect the modem activation so you can still access internet from the modem if that is already activated before resetting.
