I set up Surfboard G36, then renamed my WiFi. Now I have 2 networks. Most devices are on the new network, however when I tried to set up my outdoor irrigation controller it only recognized the 1st WiFi - am I supposed to have 2 networks? Some devices on one, and some on the other? Two different passwords. OR can I DELETE the renamed one and just have the original.

The G36 device comes with two network bands: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The 2.4GHz network covers a larger area but offers slower internet speeds, while the 5GHz network covers a smaller area and provides faster internet speeds.
Many older devices, such as smart home devices, older TVs, and printers, require the 2.4GHz network.
Therefore, it seems that your outdoor irrigation controller only recognizes the 2.4GHz network because it covers a larger area, which is recommended for such devices.

The password can be the same or different; it's up to your convenience, as long as both are secure.
