Question

G34 had 14.5 VDC to the coaxial connection

Forum|alt.badge.img

As the title says, DC voltage was applied to the coaxial connection. Problems that have occurred, download speeds drop to 0 - 2 MBPS, the 2.4Gig connection to my thermostat loses connection. All these are intermittent problem, sometimes it works wonderful other time not so. Usually unplugging and plugging back in after a few minutes clears the problem.

Have run this through ChatGTP,  it suggest that some damage is likely to have occurred.

Could you please let me know the internet speed plan you're currently subscribed to?

Are you experiencing intermittent connectivity issues only over Wi-Fi, or do they occur with a wired (Ethernet) connection as well?

If the issue occurs only over Wi-Fi, please make sure that the gateway is positioned at a higher elevation and in an open area to help reduce Wi-Fi congestion.

It is on all connections, the connectivity both wifi and ethernet. Testing the connection to the ISP with Speednet on my PC desktop the download speed drops to 0 - 1 MBPS.

That is not an issue WIFI connection is fine every where in the house except for the kitchen area, due to the furnace and ducting blocking RF signals which are grounded metals.

The problem is that 14.5 VDC destroyed two previous modems, I hoped I had caught the problem and not caused damage to the unit. I installed a splitter to block DC, Zito has now fixed the problem at the post in my yard.
