Good morning,

Can anyone please tell me if I can readily connect 2 WiFi routers (one to each Ethernet port) on an S34 modem?

I have a detached garage and want to have a separate (from the house) LAN in it.

Thank you.

For the majority of ISP’s, No.

Reason why is most ISP’s only issue a single public ip address. the modem then connects that to the router which assigns private ip addresses (simplified version).

Because of that, only 1 device can be connected for most ISPs (not all). Unless you pay for a 2nd ip address or are on a business account. Xfinity doesn’t allow you to have extra unless you have a business account (trust me on this one).

Its a bit sad when you have a modem with multiple ports but can’t use them but its reality.

Thank you Plemans… I have Spectrum in Central Florida and will see if they will sell me a second IP address.

It is too far away for a mesh satellite from the house “base”, so I plan to just have a separate wifi router/network.
