ecco 7 router cannot connect to internet

I purchased a new EECO7 router and am unable to get an internet connection when I hook up direct to my model S33. Everything works fine when connected to my old Apple Tower router  and my Ecco will connect to the internet when hard wired to the Apple . Tried all the unplugging and resetting multiple times. What’s preventing me from connecting to the S33?

Since you confirmed that the S33 worked with your previous Apple router, it should also work with your new router. However, if your new router requires configuration, simply plugging it in and trying to connect to the Wi‑Fi will not work until the setup is completed.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect all power cables from both the modem and the router.
  2. Connect a single Ethernet cable from the modem to the router’s WAN/Internet port.
  3. Power on the modem first and wait until it fully boots up.
  4. Once the modem is online, power on the router.
  5. After the router starts up, complete the router’s setup process.

Did all that multiple times!   Finally an hour ago  determined the router needed to be “reconfigured “ by Comcast/Xfinity  tech support.  They were able to do remotely once I was able to talk to a real person  Now all is working properly
