S33 dropping connection, very hot. 

 

I have had it hooked up for 4 days and I get a dropped connection and buffering all the time. I went from 40mbps DSL to 300mbps cable and I feel like I had better internet with the DSL. 

Modem is running around 160 degrees internally, consistent logs show sync failure

Still within Amazons 30 day return window so I will probably return it.

Since you are experiencing with intermittent internet connection, I suggest you to check the cable signals to make sure all the signals are in range.

Also as you mentioned the modem is very hot, please check the below mentioned for safety measures:

  1. Identify potential safety concerns: product is too hot, very uncomfortable to the touch, smells like burnt plastic, see sparks and smoke from the product, or other safety concerns.
  2. disconnect it from the power source and to immediately discontinue the use of the unit.
  3. Verify no property damage or bodily injury occurred.
