S33 intermittent connection and unable to register the product

This is the same issue I get trying to register/validate warranty. The cardboard product box shows “S33” while the HTML access into the modem shows “S33v3.” Regardless, the “check your warranty” page does nothing, that is, doesn’t display an error message.

 

The “register your product” page doesn’t have a “S33v3” product but does have “S33.” That combination gives me “The Serial Number and Model Number that you entered do not match.” 

 

The product runs flaming hot (for electronics), connects for a while, then drops the connection. Another “community” post has information about signal levels; perhaps that will make this … product work better.

 

I am glad I spent nearly $200 for this modem!
