This has been ongoing for a long time now, just now doing research though. Had Xfinity re-provision twice and also reset to factory settings with no luck, they told me they see OFDMA on channel 43 but I’m not seeing it on my end at all, will post the logs of the boot up and provision. Cannot exceed 40 Mbps upload and very random download speeds as well. Any help is appreciated!

You won’t hit faster than 40mbps up load on xfinity with the S33. Its only approved by xfinity to 40mpbs upload and isn’t on the list for the next gen speeds.

Gotcha, that actually makes so much more sense. I thought it was an S34 when I was troubleshooting with xfinity. Didn’t realize the s33 supports it but xfinity does not. Why I couldn’t find that answer on the internet is another mystery. Hope this helps some other too!

If you’re within your return period, I’d return it from wherever you bought it. The extra “next gen” upload speeds are pretty nice. I’ve got them on my account. I didn’t think it’d make much difference but it sure seemed like it did

Luckily my neighbor actually gave it to me when he downsized his system so not too worries about the money. Would you say its worth it to move up to an S34 or to wait for the next gen surfboard to come out?

Enough to upgrade? Ehhh. Just depends on what you do/use it for. I stream a ton and need increased upload speeds. Most users don’t as they just need decent download speeds. So unless you’re uploading massive files, media sharing, or any other high bandwidth upload process, you should be fine. But if you are, then an upgrade might be nice for you
