S34 modem burned out

Installed this modem about 3 weeks ago. According to the installer and now Comcast tech the modem has burned out already. Reinstalled the old modem which was working but I wanted to up my internet speeds. My question is how to proceed under warranty for get a replacement?

If you felt the device was burned, I would suggest disconnecting the modem from the power outlet for safety measures.
