Could you please elaborate on your issue so that we can provide you with accurate and precise information?

Please note that the SB6190 is a cable modem only and does not have built‑in Wi‑Fi capabilities. There are also no advanced settings or troubleshooting options available when you log in to its interface it is essentially a plug‑and‑play device.

Lastly, to access the SB6190 web interface, you must be directly connected to the modem via an Ethernet cable from your computer. Alternatively, you can connect through Wi‑Fi if a router is connected to the modem. Once connected, open your browser and enter 192.168.100.1, which is the default IP address for accessing the interface.

Correct… not looking for Wi-Fi as Wi-Fi company said this is a modem issue.  I also attempted with Ethernet cable with same result.  I gave all the details so I don’t know what else to say.   For the rest of your comments, I don’t know what you’re saying other than I’m supposed to be able to get to the router setting and cannot.

Please try changing the Ethernet cable, and consider swapping the ends to see if that helps.

To check the Ethernet port status, you can connect the modem directly to a computer and check the IP address without the coaxial cable connected.

To check the IP address on a Windows computer, please follow these steps:

  1. Press the Windows button + the letter R on your keyboard to open the "Run" command box.
  2. In the box, type "CMD" and press Enter.
  3. A black screen will appear. Type "ipconfig" and press Enter.
  4. Under the category 'Ethernet adapter Ethernet,' you’ll find the IPv4 address.

To check the IP address on a Mac:

  1. Click on the Apple menu.
  2. Then, select System Preferences or System Settings.
  3. Navigate to Networks and click on the Ethernet option to view the IP address.
  4. If you're using an adapter, you’ll see an option for USB under Networks.

If the IP address starts with 169.254.., or if the media state shows 'disconnected' or the category is blank, there could be an issue with the port itself.

You’ve not really told us what you’re problem is other than “192.168.7.1” won’t appear.

That isn’t the modems address. the modems default address is 192.168.100.1

And it needs to go modem----->router---->switches/other devices.

So if you need help, a better description of what you’re actual devices are (models and brands), what you’re trying to do, what you’ve done, and any other details can help. Or we’re just guessing.

The model and brand is in the subject along with the detail.  For the path you have written.., I don’t understand what all that is.  I simply have the arris sb6190.  I use eero Wi-Fi mesh which really has nothing to do with this.  There is a netgear pro safe gs108 that I don’t know what it is but don’t think that’s impacting .  My main goal is to get to router settings that I haven’t been able to as described.  The 192.168.7.1 is what appears when I type ipconfig in Cmd, and it won’t bring up the router settings.  My husband passed and I’m thinking the netgear thing might have been for his specialized equipment but I’m trying not to disturb anything to make matters worse.

I get pop ups that the 192.168.7.1 is trying to send malicious stuff, but on the other hand, ipconfig shows that’s my router

Thank you all for assisting.   I’m not even sure what company to call or how to get assistance.  I saw arris online but out of warranty.  But if I knew how to get help, I would.

the 192.168.7.1 is NOT the modem’s address. when you’re typing cmd-->ipconfig into your computer, thats giving you the default gateway (the routers address). That isn’t the modem address. Its your Eero.

And you haven’t said how the netgear gs108 is connected.

Are you going SB6190---->Eero---->GS108

or

SB6190---GS108---->eero

Most Eero’s you access using their app. and its address is the 192.168.7.1

The sb6190 will be at 192.168.100.1
