How do I get this modems Ethernet port to operate at it’s rated speed of 1Gbps?

I didn’t see any configuration setting for this when I logged into it.

Or is this SB6190 only capable of 100Mbps on the port?

You shouldn’t to change it’s configuration, but there are many factors at play here.

  1. Who is your ISP?
  2. What is the plan speed from  your ISP?
  3. Does your ISP actually support that speed on a DOCSIS 3.0 device? Some will and some won’t.
  4. How are you testing the speed? Are you using a PC connected via ethernet directly to the SB6190  for initial test? Are you using Speedtest or some other utility? If using Speedtest, are you running it locally (best approach) or in a browser (less accurate/slower)? Does the network interface card on you PC support gigabit speeds, or is it 10/100?

With a little more data, hopefully we can identify the real root cause here.

The SB6190 is connected directly to a security appliance.

I swapped the nic on the appliance and it’s back to what it should be (ethtool eth0)

Thanks.
