Hello. I just recently bought the SB 8200 modem. And somehow it asked me to download this app and it keeps asking me to log in but I don't know the login information and it doesn't give me a button to reset anything or ask for the information. Do I need this app at all? What is this app for? The only reason for me buying this modem is so I don't have to pay the rental fee through my Internet cable company. Any help is much appreciated.

You don’t need the app.
You don’t even need to log into it if you don’t want.
Just call the ISP and have them provision it off the mac address.
Or you can log in through the browser and activate it that route if you’d prefer (and your ISP has that option)
