I have had the same issue. It worked well for a few days no issues and now we have to keep powering down modem and restarting it for the connection to come back. There are no issues with my internet provider and have never had to restart modem at least twice a day.

Lines do sometimes have issues. Weather can impact it too. 

Log into the modem and take a screensnip of the cables connections page (shows upstream/downstream values) and the logs. That helps check the line/connection for issues.
