how to get updates for Arris modem

Forum|alt.badge.img

Wi-Fi will drop several times a day on phone at home. I was told that it was because my Arris modem hadn’t been updated. It is 2 years old. Does it update automatically or do I have to do it?

the SB8200’s firmware is pushed automatically from the ISP. If the wifi is dropping, its something on the router side as the sb8200 is a modem only device. It has zero wifi capability.

Whoever you were talking to about the router was trying to get you off the call.

What router do you have?

Thank you for your reply.
My router is a Linksys EA 6350. It’s pretty old.
