internet sb8200 - Unable to use both ethernet port at the same time.

Forum|alt.badge.img

My sb8200 has 2 internet ports. The #1 connects laptop to modem. It flashes orange. 2 connects my router to the modem. It flashes green. Shouldn’t both be flashing green?

Regarding the ethernet ports ( both) either can be flashing orange or green which is an indication that the internet is working on the ports that are connected to the device.

To work on both ports simultaneously, need to contact the ISP to activate the second port as it requires a different IP address.

While the SB8200 has 2x ethenet ports, most ISP’s only support 1 public IP address. Meaning only 1 device can be connected to it and have internet at a given time.
