Speed you had mentioned is it wired or wireless ? Also what is your Speed plan with your ISP (Internet Service Provider )?

Similar situation. I pay for 1000mbs down and 100 up. I get 900 down (which is fine) but only 24 up on a wired or wireless connection? I need to get more upload speed? At least half?! Is there a setting I can change to allow better upload speeds? 

Same situation.  I pay for 1000 Mbps service and only get about 30-60.  Connection constantly dropping too.  ISP (Mediacom) says issue is with the modem.  How can I tell? 

TLDR: I was actually getting the right speed and the mesh system solved my lagging issues. GET A MESH NETWORK TO PAIR WITH YOUR MODEM. F YOUR OLD ROUTER trust! 

So my problem has been solved.

The phone center says that I am supposed to get 1000mbs down and 100 up. As soon as I went into the local store to get a new modem from the ISP (Xfinity) they told me my SURFBoard modem was perfect and I should only be getting 20mbs down!  

The thing that started all this was lagging while playing online over Wi-Fi. I get great speeds when I run the internet speed test. 500 down and 20 up. But it lags bad on games. 

I found the fix! 

eero - Pro 6 AX4200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System (3-pack) The Xfinity dude that came to my house recommended this over paying a third party to run a hardline. He was not going to even be the one to do this, his friend was gonna get paid to run the cable. So the fact that he STILL recommended this made me say what the heck. If it didn't work I could take it back. 

These little boxes replicate your internet connection to the modem 1 for 1! If you get 1000 down you get 1000 down. Wherever I plug one of these boxes into a wall, and connect my device (PC) with the ethernet cable. I get 1000 down and 20 up. Works like its hardwired. Even though the modem is in another room connected to one of these boxes. Problem solved. I have been gaming lag free and couldn't be happier. 1000% recommend. 

He was adamant about the Pro 6. not the 6, not the pro 6e, just the pro 6.
