After a lightning storm, my SB8200 modem is showing flashing icon (scanning for downstream channel Internet connection). Does this indicate that the modem is damaged or that the Internet service is damaged or interrupted?  Mediacom says problem is with the modem?

Signal light on the modem is flashing is because of the low signal level on the modem. you can try restarting or power cycling modem for a minute then check for the signal level on the modem GUI that will help us to find and isolate the issue on the modem.
