Mediacom is my ISP and they are doing an upgrade to their system that will disable all DOCSIS 3.0 modems.  They now only list 2 modems as compatible with their service - Netgear CM2500 and CM3000.  They seem to be promoting mid/high split technology.  I would like to buy a Surfboard SB8200.

My questions are:

  1.  Will the SB8200 work with Mediacom?
  2. Does Arris sell any modems that are mid/high split capable?

Arris can’t say if it will. Its on the ISP to approve devices for their service. If its not on the list and not supported, then you’re SOL. you’ll have to contact mediacom to determine exactly what they’ve approved.

Mediacom sent me this a few days ago.

I bought the 8200 and it works great.

Just call them with the new Mac Address.
