So my original problem was that my internet connection was dropping (Xfinity) so we scheduled a tech to come out for a fix.

The initial issue was resolved because it turned out that the line was damaged and the house we moved into had multiple splitters that were causing our signal to "leak" he mentioned that he was surprised that we had a connection at all from how bad it was, he disabled all the other Coax outlets that weren't in use and our issues were fixed for that day.

I should note that Prior to this visit we had our Arris SB8200 modem's lights as Blue for downstream. (speeds are 600+mbs Down and 30mbs Up)

After his visit the internet went down that night only to return in the morning but the lights on the Modem turned all Green and occasionally flicker (and have remained green) but occasionally it turns Blue for downstream for about 5-10 seconds whilst the connection drops only to return to green again.

For ex. any stream/Netflix video/Game that is running will cut out for that time while the downstream light turns Blue but reconnect once the lights turn back green. Our speeds are still as fast as before but the connection is not consistent at all.

 

We Power cycled the modem repeatedly asked Xfinity to reset our connection on their end, Factory Reset our modem and even called the tech back to check it out, but He couldn't figure out why this was happening and every time we tried asking for Xfinity to help they kept trying to sell us their modem and upgrading our plan instead of doing anything else.

 

I am not a techie that can diagnose the issues from the modems login page so I can't tell what is going on there.

 

What are my options to fix? could it be a Modem issue? a Coaxial Cable issue? Power issue?

Your error codes are still indicating some line issues with the connection. Your power levels aren’t bad but something is still causing interference.

Could the interference come from the outlets being worked on?

the tech mentioned that he had to replace a line outside because of some damage but this issue never happened before even with the damaged line.

Should i move my modem to a different room? or Is there anything i can provide for the tech to make this issue easier to diagnose.

The issue that I found is with the upstream power levels, since they should be between 45 dBmV to 51 dBmV and yours are below the accepted range. Your ISP can adjust them and that’ll fix the issue. I will attach an article that will have the complete information. Hope this helps you.

the power levels are fine. Its just something with the connection that the ISP will probably need to come check again. 

When the downstream power levels are higher it indicates either your using an amplifier or you’re close to the hub. Based on your upstream, you’re close to the hub or the upstream levels would be higher.  The upstream is the modem sending a signal back to the cmts/hub. If its further away or there’s something reducing the signal (like a splitter/attenuator) the modem will have higher upstream levels to be “talk” to the hub/cmts.
