My new SB8200, but its software/firmware says it is a SB6183 DOCSIS 3.0.  What is going on!  Would I replace it?

The factory software/firmware says it is a SB6183 DOCSIS 3.0.  I was worried.  When I registered it with my cable company, the software/firmware now said it’s a SB8200 with DOCSYS 3.1. Good!  I wish somebody would has said this at the beginning.

Is it giving you the speeds you pay for?

That’s the key.

It could just be how the ISP identifies it in their system. so long as its doing its job and hitting its speeds, it shouldn’t matter.
