SB8200v2 cable connector/nipple is smaller than the old Arris Modem it replaced. therefore, my cable is too large and will not screw on the new 8200. is there an adapter for the cable? is this a new standard? do I have a foreign version of the SB8200? please help.

I think you probably just have a bent connector as the SB8200 uses standard size coax connectors.
