My SB8200 will not connect to docsis 3.1. I have a spectrum gig plan. Spectrum tells me my plan is docsis 3.1

but my modem is stuck in docsis 3.0. I don’t see an option how to change the setting in the management page. 
spectrum is no help and tells me to contact the manufacturer. Any help would be greatly appreciated 

Also I cannot access the management page while the modem is connected to the net. I can disconnect from the net and access the page. 

Are you hitting the speeds you pay for? Docsis 3.0 is capable of hitting gigabit speeds. 

And maybe your area isn’t provisioned for docsis 3.1 yet. Spectrum hasn’t exactly been fast at upgrading all areas (whish is pathetic on their part)

Plus their defacto response is “check with the manufacturer” even though they know the manufacturer can’t change anything on the ISP’s side.
