My modem was purchased two weeks ago, and it worked fine for few days then disconnected from WiFi signal, after restarting WiFi comes back. Checked with WiFi provider and no outage in the area, no service interruptions either. This is our second Arris modem that our first one didn’t have this issue. Requesting technical support or change the product. Thanks!

  1. The SB8200 doesn’t have any wifi. Its a modem only device
  2. what router do you actually have managing wifi?
  3. is it just wifi or do wired devices drop too?

So what arris router is it? There’s a bunch.

You said you’re resetting the modem, rebooting the router doesn’t fix it?

Does the wifi disappear or what actually happens.

Details are key, we can’t help off vague or general answers because we aren’t there to see whats going on. So the more detailed you are, the better we can help

The Arris router is AC1900P, resetting router does not help when WiFi is drooped. Yes, WiFi disappears during conference call or in the middle of using iPad etc. in the past two weeks, WiFi disappears every two or three days that I had to unplug the modem then plug back in that WiFi comes back.please let me know if other questions before you can fix the problem or replace one. Thanks.

To begin isolating the issue, please connect a computer directly to the modem using an Ethernet cable and monitor the connection to see if it drops. This will help determine whether the problem lies with the modem, the router, or elsewhere.

If the issue persists even with a direct connection, we can proceed with checking the cable signal levels within the modem . If the signal levels are out of the acceptable range, they can lead to the kind of connectivity issues you're experiencing.

When the signal levels are within the recommended range, your modem can maintain a stable, high-quality connection to the internet

Please refer to the link below for instructions on how to check your cable signal levels:

If you find that the signal levels are not within the recommended range, we suggest contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to have them reviewed and adjusted as needed.

Hi, I connected the cable out of modem directly, it still does not work. When cable is connected to computer, it shows Unidentified the network, while WiFi was working fine. This is the second time I am using Arris modem and I strongly believe this component has some problems. When I first contacted you, we had to reset every 2-3 days, now almost every day. When I lost connection, I connected service provider and the signal was good. I would like to return or replace the current modem. Thanks!

If you try to connect both Ethernet ports to the SB8200 simultaneously, it will not work. The SB8200 is a standalone cable modem and does not include a built-in DHCP server. When your Internet Service Provider (ISP) activates the modem, it typically assigns only one public IP address, which supports a single connection. Therefore, swapping Ethernet connections may result in no connectivity. In such cases, try restarting your modem and ensure that only one Ethernet connection is connected to the modem at a time.
