ref: Upstream Light Not Blue just whitish color or no color
Hi,

Have searched the Internet high and low  looking for a solution to this problem only to find vagaries or possible blame on the user, or the cables.

Just to mention, that 3 days ago all internet coaxial ethernet cables from the pedestal to the SB8200 as well as the full operating signals, have been checked one by one by an Xfinity technician and found them all in excellent working order.

Also as suggested by some users, or instructions on faq performed a reset, to no avail.

Have performed a number of restarts following Xfinity’s instructions as well as those found in the manual or this site to no avail.

Unless I am able to find a solution to the problem of Upstream light not blue after completing a restart, will have to return the modem to the place it was bought from since I am still within the limits of days to return an Item.

Please help me find a working solution as I maybe as well be missing something.

BTW internet is working correctly except for the missing US blue light

Many thanks in advance.

Hello Iggiebee

SB8200 is a cable modem so the light status shows as follows

Scanning for an upstream (send) channel Internet connection.

Green: Upstream channel is connected in DOCSIS 3.0 mode.
Blue*: High-speed Internet connection with upstream channels in DOCSIS 3.1 mode.

Blue - Indicates DOCSIS 3.1 operation (high-speed Internet access) which may not be available in all location.  Check with your service provider for availability in your area.

If the light isn't shows blue or faded white you wont be getting internet without proper upstream signals and since you are getting internet your modem is receiving proper cable signals so for this we would suggest you to check the cable signal level on the modem interface to isolate the issue. You can use the following link to check the signal level on the modem interface
