I just bought a SB8200 and I have it connected to COX and I see all solid green lights, but how come the downstream and upstream do not turn blue which means I have a DOCSIS 3.1 connection. I have called COX and told me that the signal being sent to me is Docsis 3.1 and that the problem is the modem. I tried to log in to the modem but no luck either, won’t let me login at all. Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks.

If if the provisioning is correct, it could be a hub issue or even that you don’t need docsis 3.1 to hit your speeds.

what speeds do you pay for?

Are you getting those speeds wired?

I pay for 500 plan but I am hitting about half, 250 to 400. I haven’t tested the speed wired so I’m gonna do that and see what speed I have. Thanks.

What did you get wired?

The SB8200 is a plug-and-play device and does not require any configuration.

If your internet service provider claims to be sending DOCSIS 3.1 signals, there is a way to verify this. You can check the signal type by logging into the modem’s web interface.

Please refer to the link below for instructions on how to access the web interface.

Once logged in, navigate to the Product Information tab and look for the Standard Specification Compliant field. If it shows DOCSIS 3.0, it indicates that your provider is not currently delivering DOCSIS 3.1 signals to your modem.
