After I installed the modem last weekend the even log shows that the modem will not update the firmware.

I go to the web page on the modem using the 192.168.100.1 address, no issue.

speed has been good, speed test shows 300 to 200mb download.

There is no update firmware link, or check for latest updates?

I noticed the firmware log shows that it is unable to update firmware. The software writers will need to test their code to find out why it shows it is corrupted on the end modem side.

Here is the log snippet of 2 occurrences:

Hello ssman12341

The Cable Operators (MSOs) have complete control of what cable modem/gateway hardware they will allow installed and the firmware it uses, this is because they own the coaxial cable that is connected to the ARRIS SB8200, because of that the Firmware updates are pushed by them, and any update needed as well. Any associated firmware updates are automatically deployed by the cable operator. This is not an ARRIS only implementation, but the required implementation of any cable device manufacturer.

So about the event log you need to again check this with your Internet service provider to look for the log status and update the modem accordingly cause they have the access to do it remotely.
