I have contacted my Internet provider who directed me to you for help. They said I am having issues with the modem locking onto the router?

A better description of your issue would help. Yours was vague and without much info.
A quick tip. The SB8200 has 2x ethernet ports but for most ISP’s only 1 device can be connected to it because they only assign 1 public ip address.
