I forgot I had purchased this to upgrade my SB6190 until I had some connection issues and upgraded to 1m service for less.

In starting up my SB8200 I had to go back and forth between the Ethernet ports for RJ-45 network cable connections to connect to the SB8200 Web Manager.  But I did so without using a username & password, why?

Comcast (Xfinity) did maintenance and lost service for over a week.  I was able to a get connection, but it isn’t complete yet, get blue on downstream, but not upstream.

They updated my software, I still need to go back and forth between the Ethernet ports for RJ-45 network cable connections to connect to the SB8200 Web Manager.  It still doesn’t need come up with the login page needing a username & password, why?

I lose connection to it going from page to page and have to do it all over again to connect.  Also, if flashes a bottom part of the Configuration Page which I believe is where you can set a password but ends up only showing top part.

I have done several power cycle resets, but I have not done a 10 second button reset because I don’t what to change Comcast (Xfinity) settings.  I know my connection still isn’t right and I will be contacting them, but what of this connecting to my SB8200 Web Manager without having to log on to it?

Any ideas on this?  Thank you!

If the web interface is accessible without prompting for login credentials, it may be related to the modem's firmware version. Some cable modems allow access to their interface without a password by default. However, once a firmware update is applied, the interface may begin requiring login credentials.

Is your connection experiencing intermittent issues? Also, could you please confirm the internet speed plan you're currently subscribed to?

Additionally, if the downstream light is blue but the upstream light is not, it indicates that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is not transmitting a DOCSIS 3.1 signal for the upstream channel.

Hello,

As previously stated, I have Comcast (Xfinity) as a provider with 1m service.

Yes, I understand I am DOCSIS 3.1 signal for the downstream channel, but the DOCSIS 3 signal for the upstream channel.

My software (firmware) version is D31CM-PEREGRINE-1.1.1.0-GA-11-NOSH for now.  Comcast (Xfinity) did update it, but still no log in needed to connect to the modem.

Funny thing is, when I go to the configuration tab a full configuration window flashes real quick showing the lower part with the log on setup, then I only get the upper half of the window.

Thanks again for replying!

We recommend clearing your browser's cookies and cache before attempting to log in to the interface. You can also try using different browsers such as Brave or Opera Mini to see if the issue persists.
