I bought a new SBG10. It wont accept password provided to start it up. What do I do

The password, you are asking about Wi-Fi password or GUI web portal login password.

If you are referring Wi-Fi password, you can locate the default credentials at the bottom of the modem.

GUI web portal login password, you can try password as password to create new password.

did you try password or the last 8 of the serial number?

Current setup: Netgear CM3000-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 2.4gig/350mbps
