Bought sgd 10 Friday. Followed quick start,and nothing.

Hardwire a pc/laptop into it for access it. 

You might be talking about the wifi password.

Did you contact your isp to have them provision it?

Current setup: Netgear CM3000-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 2.4gig/350mbps

Yes. But when they told me to try to connect,  it says improper password. I don't know what password they are talking about.  The only one I have is the one under modem web manager,  which says the password is password.
