My ISP, Xfinity, has me on a 600mbps download 35mbps upload plan. When using WiFi on the 5G channel sitting 4 feet from the router with no physical barriers between the router and computer, the highest download speed achieved using the Xfinity speed test is 270mbps download. I am not expecting 600 but I would have expected something better than half the plan speed. What is reasonable? Is there anything I can do with the router to make improvements to the download speed?
What download speed should I expect?

The speed plan you have subscribed to with Xfinity is not compatible with your current model, as the provider has approved a maximum download speed of 392 Mbps for this device. Therefore, you will need to downgrade your speed plan with Xfinity in order for the gateway to function properly.
