I’m dealing with constant internet drops on Xfinity and could use some advice. I have an Arris SBG6950AC2 modem/router, and Xfinity confirmed their signal is strong coming in, but they think the modem isn’t distributing it properly. They also mentioned this model might struggle with delivering not only the full 1Gbps speed, but not even close to 600 tops. Lately, the connection drops have been happening a lot more. Has anyone else had similar issues with this modem on Xfinity, or needed to upgrade to keep up with faster speeds? Does my modem needs firmware update?  Modem is out of warranty -  Do I need new one or this can be fixed ? Would love to hear your experiences or any tips on solving this!

I believe the SBG6950AC2 works with Xfinity Internet plan up to 300 Mbps (according to their compatible modem list).  You’ll need to replace it with a compatible modem/router device that’s on their list.
