SBG6950ACS - Unable to activate the modem due to speed compatability

I just tried to activate my modem and Cox said they couldn’t because this model only goes up to 250 Mbps???

SBG8300 will support speed up to 686Mbps and this has been mentioned on the official site of Arris.

According to Cox’s approved modem list, the SBG8300 listed under 1Gig and lower. They should be able to activate it on speed higher than 250Mbps.
