We have the arris modem, which is not sending a good signal to our back camera, alarm company suggests an extender.  Reviewing the reviews of the arris extender, they are mostly not excellent.  We wanted to stay with arris since our modem is arris but have concerns based on the reviews.  Can you offer any details, information, positivity.     Our arris modem is perfect, we replaced Xfinity with the arris and are super pleased.

The SBG7400AC2 can cover up to 2,200 sq. ft., although actual coverage may vary depending on environmental factors such as concrete walls, microwave ovens, or nearby aluminum surfaces.

To optimize performance and reduce Wi-Fi congestion, we recommend placing the gateway in a centralized location and at a higher elevation

What actual router do you have?

That matters when you’re looking at extenders.

Are you only needing to add a little coverage? Or a lot of coverage? That also matters because it isn’t recommended to add more than a single extender. If you’re needing more than 1, its advised to use a mesh system

Thanks much.  We have an Arris SBG7400AC2 modem.  Our wifi coverage is at low 70, that is why the camera goes out.  Our property is only 400 sq feet so I believe we only need a little additional coverage.  We reviewed the Arris extender package, but the reviews don’t seem as a recommend.

That modem is pretty half decent for a ISP based device. I’d Look at a triband from netgear like the EX7500, EX7700, or EX8000. Or tplink like their RE815X.  The triband has a dedicated backhaul. They have faster speeds and can be picked up used on the used market for pretty reasonably.
