I was having connection issues on my Arris SBG8300 using 5G. I enabled band steering, and now the 5G channel doesn't even show up as an option.

band steering combines the 2.4ghz band and the 5ghz band into one and allows devices to roam between them as needed

Current setup: Netgear CM3000-->Netgear RBE973S-->2.5gig tp-link switch, Xfinity 2.4gig/350mbps
