Difficulty finalizing wifi connection

SBG8300 attempting to connect to Xfinity WiFi.  The last step indicates that the modem is restarting before you can use your WiFi , but the modem WiFi lights continue to blink and it does not connect.

this has happened repeatedly,  any advice on how to finish the setup would be greatly appreciated.

Have you activated the SBG8300 with your internet service provider by providing them the HFC MAC ID?

For the SBG8300, the blinking Wi-Fi light status is normal. However, please make sure that the first light, which is the online light, is solid green.

If you are unable to connect to the Wi-Fi, try connecting a computer directly using an Ethernet cable to check the connection.
