We have a previous wifi extender - TP Link that was easy to connect on our old router/modem as the old one had a button to connect it. This new surfboard does not. How do I connect this wifi extender now??

SBG8300 doesn't have physical WPS button on it so you can setup WPS on your modem GUI only please follow the steps mentioned on the below article to setup WPS so that you can connect to the modem and extenders.
