Been using my Surfboard SBG8300 modem and router for 4-5 years with no issue. Over night, the modem-router stopped allowing a connection to the internet.

Both lights on the surfboard are solid green. I have no problem accessing the admin panel. When I go into the admin panel, it notes that WAN internet is inactive.

Tried restarting, power cycling and a full factory reset.

ISP is Optimum and we have a 500mb plan.

ISP said it is likely an issue with the modem-router and it will likely need to be replaced, but is sending out a tech tomorrow. Any other troubleshooting I can do/any thoughts on what might be the issue?

If the WAN section shows as inactive, it indicates that the gateway has lost its connection to your internet service provider. The LED light status you described appears normal, which suggests the gateway itself is functioning properly. We recommend contacting your internet service provider to have this issue resolved.

You could check if your device is receiving an IP address from the ISP on its WAN side. If it isn't, the problem could be past your device, such as a cut cable.
