My Arris Surfboard SBG8300 randomly drops offline.  I have to unplug it, then plug it back in to get it back online.  Is there a fix for this issue?  This is unacceptable because I am frequently out of town for several weeks to a month and need to access my home devices remotely.

Could you please provide us about your internet speed plan?

Does the gateway reboots on its own when the internet connection drops. Additionally, does the internet drop on all devices connected to the SBG8300, or is it limited to a specific device?

If the issue occurs only with Wi-Fi, could you check if the gateway is placed in an open area? This can help reduce Wi-Fi congestion and improve the signal quality

If you're experiencing internet drops on both the hardwired connection and Wi-Fi, I would suggest checking the cable signal levels. This can help identify any potential issues with the signal strength that may be affecting your connection.

Cable signal levels on a modem refer to the strength and quality of the signal received from your internet service provider (ISP) through the coaxial cable. These levels are important for ensuring a stable and reliable internet connection.

Please refer the link below, where you can find the instructions to check the cable signal levels

@SURFboard Moderator suggestion for the cable connections is correct. Usually if its a reboot that fixes it and the issue comes back, its a connection back to the isp causing issues. A screensnip of the cable connections page can help
