Xfinity just sent me an email stating that my Arris SBG8300 modem will not deliver 1.2 Gbps which is the speed provided by their network. My speed check comes to 868.5 Mbps and I am CAt6 hard wired to the modem approximatly 20 feet away.
Can anyone on this form collaborate this info? And if so, does Arris have any suggestions to remedy this problem? Software upgrade?

Sounds about right. You’re getting the right speed since 900 Mbps is the highest Internet plan Xfinity allows the SBG8300 to be on. ISP sets the plans the modems can operate on regardless of modem’s capabilities. This is for all manufactures.
